Brief History of Temple and Society
Sri Arulmigu Muneeswarar Alayam is the place of worship and home for devotees and worshippers from all walks of life. It has been in existence for more than 20 years and is enthusiastically involved in religious and spiritual activities, as well as a centre for humanitarian crisis and welfare. Various religious festivals and gatherings are organized throughout the years to educate worshippers to create awareness towards realizing the importance of our tradition, culture and heritage and the practice of spiritualism in our daily lives. The temple has approximately 800 devotees and is currently in the process of building a new temple. The primary aim of building the new temple is to provide better facilities to all our devotees and well-wishers and at the same time would enable us to expand and implement more service-oriented programmes for our community, with full force. The estimated cost of constructing the new temple is RM850,000. But, with prices of construction materials spiraling daily, it might even exceed the estimated figure. The temple through its various fund-raising events held over the past few years, raised approximately RM320,000 which was fully utilized for the construction of the foundation structure including overall brickworks and plastering of all the individual deity’s altar, main hall, front-entrance structure and pillars. Due to financial constraints during the current economic crisis, the construction work was forced to put on hold temporarily until the required balance funds are available in hand. The successful completion of this building project is dependant largely on the invaluable donations from the devotees and well-wishers.
The Society known as Persatuan Penganut Sri Arulmigu Muneeswarar Alayam is a non-profitable, religious and charitable organization, dedicated to serve the disadvantaged sections of society. Chandi Homa can aid you in clearing off the obstacles and hurdles on your path to success. Goddess Durga, the chief deity of this Homa will gift you with the power to balance your passion and dispassion, indulgence and denial. With her blessing, you will be able to manifest your true divine Self that unites selfishness and selflessness. By performing this Homa, you can invoke the energy of Goddess Durga, who will help you master your life! With her blessings you can effortlessly solve all the problems in life. There is nothing in this material world which is difficult to be procured by worshipping Goddess Durga! Chandiga Devi Purana Sumba and Nisumba were two cruel demons who were blessed with various boons and powers. They misused all their powers to agonize innocent people. Even the Devas were not able to defend themselves against this torture, which forced them to approach the Big 3, Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva for their help. But even the Big 3 felt helpless and sought the assistance of the Supreme Goddess, in solving the issue. Thereafter, Goddess Saraswathi, Lakshmi and Parvati attained a single form and incarnated as Chandiga Parameshwari to put an end of the notorious demons. She brutally killed Sumbha and Nisumbha and was in the red hot fury. The Celestials Devas were highly relieved and happy that they sung Durga Sapdha Sadhi in the praise of the Goddess to soothe her fury. This Durga Saptashati comprises of 700 Slokas divided into 13 chapters. Each chapter describes the divinity and the power of the Goddess' in every Avatar (incarnation). The Slokas form the base in performing the Chandi Homa (Fire Ritual). Durga Saptashati Slokas are very powerful and auspicious. Chanting of the Slokas vanquishes enemies, enhances courage, eradicates poverty and brings success and prosperity to the people. They are showered with the blessings of the Goddess herself. Chandi Homam - The Answer to "How to Solve Problems in Life" Chandi Homam & the Deity Chandi is a very fierce and powerful deity - She is the primordial energy that is responsible for the creation, sustenance and destruction of this entire universe. She is the sum total of the energies of all beings of this universe. By performing the Maha Chandi Homa, one can become free of evil eyes, curses, obstacles and they are also blessed with a lasting health, wealth and prosperity. The Worship of Goddess Chandi highlights the importance of feminine energy and this is reflected in many of its spiritual worships. Goddess Shakthi is the embodiment of all the divine forces and she is the Mother of the Universe. She is the savior of her children on the earth and protects them from all the evil. The Goddess had attained various forms to kill the Asuras (Demons) who were torturing the humans and the Celestials (Devas). Devi Mahatmiyam talks about the importance of Chandiga Devi Purana in detail. Procedures Involved in Chandi Homa A Chandi Homa is not an ordinary Homa and has to be performed by expert 9 priests with years of experience in handling such a complex and powerful homa. If not done properly, the results might not be fruitful. Our expert 9 priests will perform the Chandi Homa by chanting the Slokas containing in the 13 chapters of Durga Saptashati which is then followed by performing the actual Homa with other rituals which includes: Ganapathy pooja: Prayers are offered to the Lord Ganesha seeking his blessings. Worshipping Lord Ganesha clears all the obstacles and paves way for one's success. So, before any auspicious beginning, Lord Ganesha is first addressed with pooja and prayers. Kanya pooja: Kanya Pooja is one of the highlight of the Navaratri celebrations. Kanya pooja is a ritual of worshiping girls (aged 6 - 10) who haven’t attained puberty, symbolizing the Kanya Kumari (prepubescent) form of Goddess Chandi or Durga. This ritual is specially performed to recognize the divine feminine power vested in a girl child. Anukyai Sangalpam: Seeking the consent of the Goddess to perform the Yagna which is a sacred ritual. The ritual specifies for whom, where and when the yagna is performed. Punyakavajanam: Purifying the mind, body and place before the yagna is performed. Water is sprinkled with mango leaves around the place with the chanting of Mantras. Kalasa Sthaapana: Kalasa means a pot. It is made of metal and is filled with water and placed with Mango leaves immersed in the water. Pooja is made to this Kalasa invoking the blessings of the goddess. Parayanam Samarpanam: Chanting of Durga Saptashati Slokas worshipping the God. Bairava Bhali (offering): After the chanting of Slokas, offering is made to Lord Bairava (an incarnation of Lord Shiva) to signify the ritual. Ganapathy pooja: Prayers are offered to Lord Ganesha before beginning the Yagna Punyakavajanam: Pooja and mantras are chanted to purify the place and people who are performing the Yagna Kho pooja: The Sanskrit word Kho means Cow. In Hinduism, Cow is considered to be a holy animal embodied with divine qualities. Pooja and prayers are offered to the cow before the yagna, seeking her blessings for prosperity. Suhasini Pooja: Worshipping an elderly married woman (whose husband is alive) and performing Pada (traditional foot washing ceremony) pooja to invoke her blessings. Dampathi pooja: Dampathi means couple. Prayers are offered to an elderly couple with Padha pooja. Brahmachari pooja: A Brahmachari is an unmarried man. He is held in high esteem in Vedas and Puranas for several reasons. Padha pooja and prayers are offered to a Brahmachari seeking his blessings. Chandi yagna: The fire ritual is performed with the chanting of Mantras and Slokas. Sumangala divya Hoodhi Purna Hoodhi: Any Yagna becomes complete only when this ritual is performed. Betel leaves, Betel nuts, Coconut, Kumkum (red colored auspicious powder), Turmeric, Flowers, Fruits, a coin, a small bag of herbs are put together in a silk cloth and tied. The bag is dropped into the fire seeking the blessings of the Almighty. Maha Deeparadhana: A ritual to honor the Goddess. Lights are lit using camphor and are used to glorify the Goddess. It is also called Aarthi and is performed during the end of the pooja. Life is not a bed of rose and will continue to throw problems and challenges in front of you. But if you are not sure of how to deal with these unending problems then you just have to seek the blessings of Maa Chandi and see all your problems disappear. Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu |

The Purpose of Life
Mankind is engaged in an eternal quest for that “something else” he hopes will bring him happiness, complete and unending. For those individual souls who have sought and found God, the search is over: He is that Something Else.
Many people may doubt that finding God is the purpose of life; but everyone can accept the idea that the purpose of life is to find happiness. I say that God is Happiness. He is Bliss. He is Love. He is Joy that will never go away from your soul. So why shouldn’t you try to acquire that Happiness? No one else can give it to you. You must continuously cultivate it yourself.
Even if life gave you at one time everything you wanted — wealth, power, friends — after a while you would again become dissatisfied and need something more. But there is one thing that can never become stale to you — joy itself. Happiness that is delightfully varied, though its essence is changeless, is the inner experience everyone is seeking. Lasting, ever new joy is God. Finding this Joy within, you will find it in everything without. In God you will tap the Reservoir of perennial, unending bliss.
Suppose you are going to be punished by not being allowed to go to sleep when you are desperately in need of rest, and suddenly someone says: “All right, you may go to sleep now.” Think of the joy you would feel just before falling asleep. Multiply that one million times! Still it would not describe the joy felt in communion with God.
The joy of God is boundless, unceasing, all the time new. Body, mind, nothing can disturb you when you are in that consciousness — such is the grace and glory of the Lord. And He will explain to you whatever you haven’t been able to understand; everything you want to know.
When you sit in the silence of deep meditation, joy bubbles up from within, roused by no outer stimulus. The joy of meditation is overwhelming. Those who have not gone into the silence of true meditation do not know what real joy is.
As the mind and the feeling are directed inward, you begin to feel God’s joy. The pleasures of the senses do not last; but the joy of God is everlasting. It is incomparable!
Very few of us know how much we can put into life if we use it properly, wisely, and economically. Let us economize our time — lifetimes ebb away before we wake up, and that is why we do not realize the value of the immortal time God has given us.
Do not while away your time in idleness. A great many people occupy themselves with inconsequential activities. Ask them what they have been doing and they will usually say, “Oh, I have been busy every minute!” But they can scarcely remember what they were so busy about!
In an instant you may be required to leave this world; you will have to cancel all your engagements. Why then give any other activity first importance, with the result that you have no time for God? That is not common sense. It is because of maya, the net of cosmic delusion which is thrown over us, that we entangle ourselves in mundane interests and forget the Lord.
If we are attuned to God, our perception is limitless, pervading everywhere in the oceanic flow of the Divine Presence. When the Spirit is known, and when we know ourselves as Spirit, there is no land or sea, no earth or sky — all is He. The melting of everything in Spirit is a state no one can describe. A great bliss is felt — eternal fullness of joy and knowledge and love.
The love of God, the love of the Spirit, is an all-consuming love. Once you have experienced it, it shall lead you on and on in the eternal realms. That love will never be taken away from your heart. It shall burn there, and in its fire you shall find the great magnetism of Spirit that draws others unto you, and attracts whatsoever you truly need or desire.
I tell you truthfully that all my questions have been answered, not through man but through God. He is. He is. It is His spirit that talks to you through me. It is His love that I speak of. Thrill after thrill! Like gentle zephyrs His love comes over the soul. Day and night, week after week, year after year, it goes on increasing — you don’t know where the end is. And that is what you are seeking, every one of you. You think you want human love and prosperity, but behind these it is your Father who is calling you. If you realize He is greater than all His gifts, you will find Him.
Man has come on earth solely to learn to know God; he is here for no other reason. This is the true message of the Lord. To all those who seek and love Him, He tells of that great Life where there is no pain, no old age, no war, no death — only eternal assurance. In that Life nothing is destroyed. There is only ineffable happiness that will never grow stale — a happiness always new.
So that is why it is worthwhile to seek God. All those who sincerely seek Him will surely find Him. Those who want to love the Lord and yearn to enter His kingdom, and who sincerely wish in their hearts to know Him, will find Him. You must have an ever-increasing desire for Him, day and night. He will acknowledge your love by fulfilling His promise to you throughout eternity, and you shall know joy and happiness unending. All is light, all is joy, all is peace, all is love. He is all.
